Possible Liquid Damage Macbook Air??

About 2 weeks ago I noticed small spots of a sticky substance on my Macbook Air. Even though nothing spilled on it directly, I think I might have transferred some juice (minimal) through my fingers.

So far NO problems have appeared on the Mac. Can it/will it eventually develop problems?
