Permit for a patio cover Queens, NY? - pavelkos - 07-04-2016 I have an old aluminum awning in my backyard (~16' (w) x 6' (d) that's attached to the house. I want to replace it with a larger wood patio cover ~18' (w) x 10' (d). The patio cover would have a closed roof, but would be open all around. Do I need a permit for this as well as get an architech involved? Is this something the contractor should take care of as part of the building process? I bought the house three years ago, but I'm not sure how to verify if the existing aluminum awning has a permit. I live in Queens, NY. _________________________ patio shade sails |
