There are two major types of professional cleaners... dry cleaners and steam cleaners (hot water extraction method, not actual steam). Both will leave your carpet slightly damp after cleaning. Drying times will be 1-3 hours for dry cleaners and 6-12 hours (if done properly) for steam cleaners.
