I came home this past Sunday from a weekend with family (they live two hours away) to an apartment that had water dripping from the ceiling of my 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. I have USAA Renters Insurance with a covered replacement value of up to $26,900 with a $250 deductible.
My building's maintenance guy has determined that the tenant above me neglected to unclog a toilet for some time which was so bad he had to snake to clear (I live on the second floor of a 3 story apartment building). The water, he said, was likely from the backed up sewer line (although the water is clear).
