I am looking to design a stepper motor system with an arduino. The problem is that the indeces of the motor need to be absolute, so that when the machine turns off and then back on at a later time, it recognizes where it is, and doesn't consider the start position the "home". I've thought about making some calibration/homing mechanism (sort of like how 3D printers home 3 axes). However, this is only one axis that needs to be homed.
